Hot Cheeto Elote at Dodger Stadium

ALL THE NEW FOOD ITEMS COMING IN 2018, INCLUDING THE FLAMIN' HOT CHEETO ELOTE.

Dodger Stadium has long been at the center of the sports world here in Los Angeles. Yes, we have the Lakers, Clippers, Angels, two soccer teams, and now two football teams. But its been a long time having the Boys in Blue at the forefront of Americas favorite pastime. Since as long as I can remember, going to a Dodger game as a kid was always a family affair. The days of Carl’s JR under the heat lamps, Dodger Dogs, and fries, maybe some nachos. Those days have been long gone.

Over the years, the Dodgers have progressed significantly as an organization. Stadium renovations, roster upgrades, and of course great food additions. This season, is probably one of the more exciting year’s in recent history. Both food wise and team wise, of course. Picking up where they left off, Executive Chef Ryan Evans says— we wanna carry what we did last year, and apply it this year. Last year, the Dodger made their first World Series run since 1988. And if you remember, that brought some exclusive food items for the NLCS & World Series.

So what can we expect for the new 2018 season? Let’s just say the food is gonna be as exciting as the games being played. But none more exciting as the appearances from Howling Rays’ Johnny Ray Zone (JMHS Alumni) & Roy Choi (K-Town Native) as special guest chefs. Can you imagine the line at Dodger Stadium for Howling Rays? It’s going to be nuts! But then again, you can’t go to the Dodger game and not wait in line for Howling Rays. The details however are still being worked out, Executive Chef Ryan Evans tweeted:

Howling Rays at Dodger Stadium

New to Dodger Stadium this year is the LA Open Deck Circle, a stand that will offer specials throughout the Dodgers homestand. Also, it will be home to one long overdue menu item: The Torta. Additionally, secret menu items will be available to followers to have first access to.

WHAT ELSE IS ON THE MENU

Dodger Stadium has long been adaptive to their fans. So it comes to no surprise that they’re making the effort to make more food items available not only to field level, but also Reserve & Top Deck Levels. They’re also adding healthier food options at their Healthy Cart, including a pretzel chicken croissant and a high protein quinoa salad. Additional veggie food items you can find this season include a new Veggie Burger (Mushroom, aioli, gouda, arugula on brioche bun) and a Nopales torta.

Below we highlighted the rest of this seasons offerings minus the Churro Cake. Which is essentially a mouthwatering churro ‘cake’ topped with horchata ice-cream, caramel, and Abuelita’s chocolate shavings. If that doesn’t scream LA to you, then you’re at the wrong ballpark. Find all the delicious new food items at Dodger Stadium in 2018 below, and check back for any additional menu/specialty items. We’ll keep this post updated as well as update you in future posts.

Dodger Stadium new food item in 2018 orange chicken

ORANGE CHICKEN

If you aren’t too familiar with Basebowls at Dodger Stadium, it’s pretty simple. Food in a bowl. Who doesn’t like a good meal in a bowl in which the bowl is also a souvenir. This year, the orange chicken will replace the Kalula Pork Bowl. Orange chicken over steamed rice with veggies. Simple and easy to eat especially if you’re waiting for a foul ball to come your way. Definitely an upgrade from the early years of eating Panda Express’ orange chicken at Dodger Stadium.

King's Hawaiian Lobster Roll

KING'S HAWAIIAN LOBSTER ROLL

Fan of lobster? We have some decent lobster rolls here in Los Angeles. But to be able to enjoy a nice fresh one at Dodger Stadium— we’ve hit the peak. Imagine a Sunday afternoon game, fresh lobster roll, and a cold beer. Ahh yes, Los Angeles baseball at it’s finest. The New England style lobster mix comes on a King’s Hawaiian roll and served with kettle chips. It’s a must try this year.

Spicy Chick Sandwich at Dodger Stadium

SPICY CHICK SANDWICH

While we anticipate the arrival of Howling Ray’s at Dodger Stadium, this spicy chicken sandwich is a beast of it’s own. Far simpler than choosing from a hotness meter. The chicken is tossed in buffalo sauce and served with a jalapeño slaw, aioli, and pickles on Texas toast. Personally, I’d order this any chance I can. Great flavors, and everything you want in a good chicken sandwich. Everything from the slaw, to heat of the buffalo sauce, and even the thickness of the bread. Impressive sandwich option to choose from at the ballpark.

New Dodger Stadium food Chicken N' Waffle Sammy

CHICKEN N' WAFFLE SAMMY

In its original debut during the NLCS, the sandwich was so popular that it was also added to the World Series menu. Now, in 2018 the Fried Chicken N’ Waffle Sammy is here to stay. Made with spicy chicken, candied bacon, maple syrup, and powdered sugar packed between Belgium waffles. If you want a little sweet and heat action, this sandwich carries a well balance of both. Nothing is too overpowering as you get a little spice throughout the sandwich. Again, a must try this season and luckily is available in more sections in the park.

Carne Asada Torta at Dodger Stadium

CARNE ASADA TORTA

As we mentioned earlier, the one item Chef Evans thought was long overdue was this carne asada torta. We’re with you on that one chef. It won’t be much of a surprise if this became one of the more popular items this season. The carne asada torta will be as traditional as possible, with refried beans, jalapeños, cilantro, crema, and pickled onions. This sandwich alone speaks volumes not only to the embodiment of Los Angeles, but the food and traditions of the city. Alternatively, you can order a healthier Nopales torta both available at the new LA Open Deck Circle.

Hot Cheeto Elote at Dodger Stadium

CHEET-O-LOTE

Also making it’s return from the NLCS, the Flamin’ Hot Cheeto Elote. Anyone in Los Angeles can tell you that we all love both corn on the cob and hot cheetos. I’m not going to lie though, I was skeptical at first. I’ve always been iffy about hot cheetos on food. But I’ll be the first to say I was wrong to ever question this. Incredibly delicious, and mouthwater to just look at. I was thinking about it days after I got to try it. Roasted sweet corn rubbed with chiptole lime mayo, dusted Flamin’ Hot Chettos, cojita cheese & tajin seasoning. Match made in Dodger heaven if you ask me.
