For those unaware, I grew up in Silverlake, CA just a block away from Sunset Blvd & Sunset Junction. This is only important because it is the place that gave me (founder) the inspiration to start hypefeast.com

Now that we have covered some background info, let me start by saying that eating local is a key foundation to what we do here. Local, unbiased, honest reviews by real people. Not journalist, editors, etc. whatever you wanna call people that blog these days.

Chicken Basil with Fried Egg $7.95
Chicken, basil, steamed rice, fried egg.

So lets start. Tub Tim Siam! Right in the heart of Los Feliz on a street where many locals find themselves having lunch, (given the number of places to eat here) lies a quiet, intimate, yet reviving spot where the food is incredible. Yes, we know we’re in LA, but let’s remember the ‘unbiased’ reviews that we are known for. Tub Tim Siam will hit the spot.

Speaking of sharing, midway into our meal we were greeted with some Blue  Moon Horchata which much to our delight we were excited to try! Yes, we’ll save that for a later post or we’ll update this one! Either way, stay tuned!

…and don’t go into Tub Tim Siam asking for Blue Moon Horchata, it was just out of coincidence.

Cashew Nut Dish $7.95
Stir fried cashew nuts, water chestnuts, onions,
carrots, bell pepper, and roasted chili.

We came in on a nice sunny day (after 3 days of rain) where the sun just shined all over this place. No, seriously look at the pictures we took, it was shining. We ordered the cashew nut dish with chicken cause who can resist ordering this at any Thai restaurant & chicken basil top with fried egg. Both dishes were probably beyond these words. The chicken was cooked perfect and the vegetables cooked and sautéd to a match. They served just the right amount, with not too much, like most Thai places, but just enough to share which is what everyone wants, right?
