This obscure brunch spot located on the main strip of the Flower district in Downtown Los Angeles might be easy to miss at first, but the food and location are sure ways for you to remember its venue.
Brunch is probably my favorite meal, and Poppy + Rose serves up a mean one. Tucked in between flower markets on Wall street in downtown L.A, Poppy + Rose offers a nice breakfast and lunch menu, while serving hand-dripped coffee and cold-pressed juices. The atmosphere here is relaxed, and while the ambiance may be chic, P+R is free of pretentiousness that most brunch places in Los Angeles carry along. Maybe it’s the nice and down to earth servers, but it’s easily became one of my favorite places to eat once I walked in the door.
We opted for the Lumberjack Pancakes Breakfast and the Buttermilk Fried Chicken + Waffles because I am a sucker for anything fried chicken. The lumberjack was great- eggs, bacon, hash browns and pancakes is always a sure bet. But the highlight of my trip is the chicken and waffles, with a moist and crispy chicken and soft waffle, this dish will definitely keep me coming back.
If you’re ever in need of a great brunch spot, then look no further. Poppy + Rose offers well made dishes, a nice ambiance, and good vibes.
